monstrosity of tiny tumours

Artworks and talks exploring breast cancer.

What does breast cancer look like?
How do you face what you can’t see?
Can knowledge soften the blow?

In monstrosity of tiny tumours, these questions unfold through drawing, video, photographs, and objects. Each piece stems from Nela’s personal encounter with breast cancer and contributes to a larger narrative. The exhibition brings the disease into focus, encouraging reflection on its complexities and the critical role of early detection, which can significantly impact outcomes.

Monstrosity of tiny tumours extends beyond gallery walls with an online video tour through the exhibition, ensuring barrier-free access. Talks with experts bridge art, medicine, and cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Partnered with the Cancer Society of Otago & Southland, all proceeds will support their crucial work, turning art into action.

A heartfelt thank you to the sponsors, partners, funders, and all the generous hearts, minds, and hands who made monstrosity of tiny tumours possible.
