Pink Pathways - The Road to Early Detection In Southland

curated talk

Did you know that Southland and Otago led the way in pioneering breast cancer screening in Aotearoa during the early 1990s? Join retired surgeon, Mr. Murray Pfeifer, emeritus professor Terence Doyle, and artist Nela Fletcher - who has personally experienced breast cancer - as they share stories and images from the screening programs’ early days to the present. Interwoven with these histories is Nela’s own journey and her exhibition monstrosity of tiny tumours, offering a personal reflection on the road to early detection.
